On a roof, an expired certification or a missing safety plan brings the job to a halt
Between carpentry quotes to price down to the metre, work-at-heights certifications that expire without warning and the safety plan to keep current on every job, tracking ends up on sticky notes and two spreadsheets. An expired certification blocks a worker at the foot of the scaffold, a quote drags on and the client picks a competitor, a fall risk is never recorded in the risk assessment. Constrigo brings quotes, certifications and safety plans together in one place. The field worker reports what they did from the site, you approve, and the office pulls up the job's history in one click.

StripeWhat Constrigo does for this trade
Safety plan
Falling from a roof is the trade's number-one risk — Constrigo keeps it in your risk assessment (DUERP), not on a scrap of paper. Risks are sorted by family, including work at heights above three metres, with the prevention measures attached to each job. When a contract calls for a PPSPS or a PGC, you generate it from the job's own data instead of starting again from a blank template.
Work at heights
An expired certification should never be discovered at the foot of the scaffold. Constrigo records each worker's CACES and safety certifications, and flags a clash the moment a job needs a qualification no one available holds — or one that's about to expire. Inspection of fall-arrest PPE, harnesses, lanyards and anchor points, is tracked in the same place, with its check dates.
Carpentry quotes
A carpentry quote is priced piece by piece and by the metre: trusses, purlins, rafters, battens, then the roof covering on top. Constrigo carries your lines over from one quote to the next and works out the net totals, VAT and discounts as it goes. The client signs online, the quote becomes a job, and you keep the projected margin in view before laying the first batten.
Progress billing & retention
A full roof replacement isn't settled in one invoice. Constrigo draws up progress billing as the job advances — strip-out, frame, roof covering, flashing — with a deposit up front and a retention held and tracked until it's released. At any point you know what's invoiced, what's collected and what's still held back.
Site journal
On a roof, the weather calls the shots. The site journal logs the day's weather, what was laid and what got stopped by rain or wind, with photos to back it up. The worker fills it in from the roof, and you keep dated proof of progress — handy the day a client asks why the job took three days longer than planned.
Team scheduling
One windy day and the work stops. The schedule shows which crew is on which roof and lets you move a job when the weather turns. Constrigo also flags overlapping slots and tasks that need a work-at-heights certification no one available holds — before you end up short-handed at the top of the scaffold.
Client portal
A roof means several weeks during which the client sees nothing but tarpaulins. The client portal gives them access to their quote and invoices online, through a secure link, without having to call the office for a document. They sign their quote from home, and you save the back-and-forth of emails and paper.
Before and after Constrigo for a roofer
The same roofing job — safety, certifications, retention — on spreadsheets, then in Constrigo.
| Without trade software | With Constrigo |
|---|---|
| The work-at-heights certification expired, found out at the foot of the scaffold. | CACES and safety certifications tracked, a clash flagged in the schedule before the crew leaves. |
| The fall risk never recorded in the risk assessment. | Risks sorted under the heights family in the DUERP, a PPSPS generated from the job. |
| The carpentry quote priced by the metre in a spreadsheet, dragging on until the client walks. | Carpentry quote built line by line, signed online, projected margin kept in view. |
| A roof replacement settled in one invoice, the retention forgotten. | Progress billing as the job advances, with retention tracked until it's released. |
| The client who sees only tarpaulins and rings the office for every document. | An online client portal: quotes and invoices on view, the quote signed remotely. |
