Set Up a Payment Schedule on a Quote

On an accepted quote, the "Milestone payments" card generates a schedule in one click: "30 / 30 / 40 (default)" or "40 / 40 / 20". For a custom split, use the "Payment schedule" in edit mode. The "Payment links per milestone" card then gives you a link to copy for each unpaid instalment.

1. Open the quote with the "Accepted" status on the web.
2. In the "Milestone payments" card, click "30 / 30 / 40 (default)" or "40 / 40 / 20".
3. Three milestones are created: "Quote signature", "Mid-project" and "Balance", calculated on the total including VAT.

If the client's record contains an email address, they receive a summary of the schedule, stating that a payment link will be sent to them for each milestone.

1. Open the quote and click "Edit".
2. In "Payment schedule", start from a template ("30 / 40 / 30", "50 / 50", "30 / 30 / 40", "100% on completion") or add your instalments one by one.
3. For each instalment, enter a label, a percentage and a trigger: "On signature", "At project start", "Mid-project", "On completion" or "Custom date".
4. Check that the counter shows 100% / 100%, then save the quote.

The schedule is only saved if the percentages add up to exactly 100%.

1. On the accepted quote, find the "Payment links per milestone" card.
2. Each milestone shows its amount and status: "Pending", "Overdue" or "Paid".
3. For an unpaid milestone, click "Copy link" and send it to your client.

The link opens the quote in the client portal, at the relevant instalment. The client portal is included from the Enterprise plan onwards.
