In short
On the web app, open the "Clients" page and click "Import CSV". Drop your CSV file, map each column to a Constrigo field, check the preview, choose what to do with duplicates, then start the import. Only the client name is required. One import accepts up to 1,000 rows.
Prepare your file
Export your list in CSV format from Excel, Google Sheets or your previous software. The first row must contain the column names. If you are starting from scratch, download the CSV template offered in the import window.
- Name (required): the name of the client or company.
- Type: "Individual", "Company" or "Public". If no recognized value is found, the client is created as an individual.
- Email, phone, address, "Postal code" and "City": all are carried over to the client record.
- SIRET, for business clients.
Start the import on the web
- Open the "Clients" page and click "Import CSV".
- In the "Import clients" window, click or drag your CSV file.
- Map each column of your file to a Constrigo field. Unneeded columns can be ignored.
- Click the preview button to check the first rows.
- Choose how duplicates are handled, then click "Import" (the button shows the number of rows).
How are duplicates handled?
Constrigo detects a client that already exists by their email, then by their SIRET. Three options are offered: ignore duplicates, update existing clients, or create them as new clients.
If in doubt, choose to ignore duplicates: your existing records stay untouched.
Who can import?
Client import is reserved for the account owner. It can only be done from the web app.

Frequently asked questions
My file is in Excel (.xlsx) format. What should I do?
In Excel, use "Save As" and choose the CSV format, then import that file into Constrigo.
How many clients can I import at once?
Up to 1,000 rows per import. For a longer file, split it into several files.
What happens to a row without a name?
It is skipped and flagged in the import report. The other rows are imported normally.
Can I export my client list?
Yes, the "Export CSV" button on the "Clients" page downloads your list.
